First up, meet our Placemaking Intern, Navid Enayati.❓ What is your Major and University?💬 "I am working toward obtaining a Master of City & Regional Planning at The University of Memphis."❓ Where are you from?💬 "Originally I am from Tehran, Iran."❓ What is your favorite thing to do in Memphis?💬 "I enjoy exploring natural areas, attending musical events, dining at local restaurants, walking near the Mississippi River, and spending time with friends."❓ How long will you be interning with Memphis Medical District Collaborative?💬 "I am interning with MMDC for three months on their Real Estate team as a Placemaking Intern. My role involves organizing real estate grant and loan applications, creating presentation materials for various stakeholders, processing rental incentive applications, and auditing neighborhoods to identify investment opportunities. Additionally, I maintain a property database, work on improving internal processes, and utilize GIS and design software for mapping."❓ What do youhope to learn from your internship with MMDC?💬 "Through this internship, I aim to deepen my understanding of urban planning and placemaking, enhance my GIS and design software skills, and develop strategies for better organizational systems and workflows."❓ What excites you most about your internship with MMDC?💬 "I am excited about working with a professional team, learning from significant projects across the city, and making a meaningful impact in the Medical District."

This is Fathuma Mohamed, Isuroon's summer intern, contributing to various projects. As a rising senior at Stanford University, She is pursuing one of the most interdisciplinary majors available, Science, Technology, and Society (STS), with a focus on Catastrophic Risks & Solutions. Her studies span multiple disciplines, including environmental sciences from a socio-cultural lens. She delves into questions such as "How does this work?" and "How have technology, society, or innovation influenced policy, risk, and resources?" Her passion lies in shaping a future where resource equity, especially for basic needs, is a reality. During my internship at Coeizo from March 5th to April 5th, 2024, I engaged in a series of projects that deepened my understanding of psychology and honed my research skills. One notable project involved the development of a dynamic PowerPoint presentation titled "Exploring Personality: Understanding Types and Traits." Through this presentation, I delved into the complexities of personality psychology, offering insights into various personality types and traits.Additionally, I conducted multiple intelligence tests on individuals aged 18-25, synthesizing the findings into comprehensive reports. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical assessment methods, enhancing my ability to analyze cognitive abilities effectively.One of the most enriching experiences during my internship was the detailed observational study conducted at a local school. Over the course of 15 hours, I meticulously analyzed student and teacher behaviors across grades 6 to 10. I documented observations on various aspects, including student-teacher interactions, career aspirations, emotional states, and teacher challenges. This project provided invaluable insights into the dynamics of the school environment and the factors influencing student and teacher experiences.Throughout these projects, I demonstrated strong analytical skills, ethical conduct, and a steadfast commitment to scholarly inquiry. These experiences not only enriched my academic knowledge but also equipped me with practical skills essential for future endeavors in academia and research.
