Last month, I completed my ten weeks as the Director’s Office and Board Relations Intern at SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. I’m even more excited to continue working as the Board Relations Extern this Fall!As I grew up in the Bay Area, visiting SFMOMA for school field trips, I am honored to contribute to a space that has fueled my creativity and education. Not only was I able to experience working at one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the U.S., but I also learned how museums are governed and supported through the Director, Executive Team, and Board of Trustees.Thank you to my amazing managers, Adine Varah and Naheed Simjee-Hertz, for their infectious enthusiasm, encouragement, and leadership. Working with Ella Wesly, Robyn Gauthier, and Ellen Brancart has shown me I value collaborating with supportive teams like this.Shout-out to Ashley Holmes for leading the SFMOMA Summer Internship and to all the interns! My summer would not have been as impactful on a professional, educational, and personal level without the mentorships and friendships I gained. This is just the beginning of my work in art museums!#SFMOMA #internship #art #museums #nonprofits #SanFrancisco

One of the best initiatives we have for museums to get in real (!) touch with policy makers!🌟Involving politicians in the often hidden work of museums behind exhibition walls to helps them to make informed and better decisions for the sector.✅

This is Fathuma Mohamed, Isuroon's summer intern, contributing to various projects. As a rising senior at Stanford University, She is pursuing one of the most interdisciplinary majors available, Science, Technology, and Society (STS), with a focus on Catastrophic Risks & Solutions. Her studies span multiple disciplines, including environmental sciences from a socio-cultural lens. She delves into questions such as "How does this work?" and "How have technology, society, or innovation influenced policy, risk, and resources?" Her passion lies in shaping a future where resource equity, especially for basic needs, is a reality. Having recently started at Isuroon, She is engaged in numerous projects, gaining invaluable knowledge along the way."There couldn't have been a better place for my summer internship. The work I am doing here not only aids the Somali community in Minnesota but also the diverse populations we support. The experiences and insights I am gaining at Isuroon will be a significant asset in my personal and professional growth."#Welcome #Team #Spotlight

During my internship at Coeizo from March 5th to April 5th, 2024, I engaged in a series of projects that deepened my understanding of psychology and honed my research skills. One notable project involved the development of a dynamic PowerPoint presentation titled "Exploring Personality: Understanding Types and Traits." Through this presentation, I delved into the complexities of personality psychology, offering insights into various personality types and traits.Additionally, I conducted multiple intelligence tests on individuals aged 18-25, synthesizing the findings into comprehensive reports. This experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical assessment methods, enhancing my ability to analyze cognitive abilities effectively. One of the most enriching experiences during my internship was the detailed observational study conducted at a local school. Over the course of 15 hours, I meticulously analyzed student and teacher behaviors across grades 6 to 10. I documented observations on various aspects, including student-teacher interactions, career aspirations, emotional states, and teacher challenges. This project provided invaluable insights into the dynamics of the school environment and the factors influencing student and teacher experiences.Throughout these projects, I demonstrated strong analytical skills, ethical conduct, and a steadfast commitment to scholarly inquiry. These experiences not only enriched my academic knowledge but also equipped me with practical skills essential for future endeavors in academia and research.
